Description

The BWON rule has been one of the most contentious and enforced environmental regulations for the past two decades. The EPA has resumed auditing BWON-subject facilities to assess compliance with BWON provisions. Not only is training necessary to ensure your staff has the proper knowledge, skills and abilities to manage a BWON program but is also a requirement of many Consent Decrees.

This is a follow-up course to BWON Essentials and covers items in greater detail than were touched upon in BWON Essentials. The BWON Expert Course will include training in advanced concepts in TAB and End of Line calculation methodology, audits and consent decrees, and what to expect in the coming months with the new EPA administration. The course still contains the practical pointers and hands-on, interactive games and discussions that you have come to expect in Sage's outstanding training classes. The BWON Essentials training will provide you with the right tools to effectively manage your BWON program and expand your understanding of the finer points of the BWON rule.

Sage BWON Overview

Sage's experience with the Benzene Waste Operations NESHAP (BWON) is highly recognized in the consulting industry. Sage has provided extensive assistance related to the BWON for nearly fifty refineries across the U.S., including the development of Total Annual Benzene Quantity (TAB) calculations, development of comprehensive compliance programs, performing in-depth compliance audits and evaluations, development of compliance programs for BWON Enhancement Provisions of Consent Decrees, and multiple other BWON-related services. As a result of our extensive experience, we have become skilled in dealing with environmental regulatory agencies throughout the U.S., particularly with the staff of the EPA's National Environmental Investigation Center (NEIC). We are well-versed in all aspects of BWON compliance requirements, including compliance with Consent Decree BWON Enhancements. We have worked closely with the EPA to develop, on behalf of our clients, a number of favorable interpretations of and exemptions from provisions of the BWON rule.
